Due to high demand there will be a women´s section of the 25th ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL BENIDORM SEVENS TOURNAMENT for 2011. The tournament will take place on Saturday the 28th and Sunday the 29th May 2011 at Villajoyosa Stadium.

The aim of the tournament is to promote all levels of rugby in Spain, in particular women´s rugby. Spain already has a high standard of women´s rugby with the national side placed runners-up in the European Championship.

With the inclusion of Rugby Sevens in the Olympic programme the sport is only set to grow over the coming years. We see the beginning of this tournament as a great opportunity to encourage and take part in the growth of the sport for both men and women.

The tournament will comprise of 3 pools, with the top two teams from each pool progressing to the quarter-finals for the main cup. The team that is placed 3rd in each pool will have the opportunity to play-off for the plate.

Competition winnings will be up for grabs for the winner and runner-up in the main cup section. Competition winnings are as follows:

WINNER 800 euros
RUNNERS-UP 400 euros
