TOUCH DUCKES 2009
On the 18/19th June the First Fifteen Club will stage the fourth annual ‘Touch Duckes’ Rugby Festival, sponsored by Accenture (who will be attending the event in a social capacity) and supporting the Matt Hampson Trust with our proceeds. ‘Touch Duckes’ is an invitational 2-day touch rugby tournament coupled with après rugger at a premier student nightspot. There will be a full bar, barbeque and live music.
Enter an old school boy team, a side to represent your university or assemble a barbarian squad of the finest players and friends you can find.
Entry is £15 per player, and each player will receive Team Stash and discounted entry to the après party.
Spectators make the event and the focus is on the sidelines as much as the pitch, with free entry to soke up the sun, drinks and watch the rugby. All spectators are welcome to take part in the Apres Party.
Last year over 300 players took part, from universities, schools and Premiership Academies with the culmination of an anticipated final between RGS High Wycombe Old Boys and the University of Exeter Touch Soc, with the eventual winners the RGS Boys. It’s all to play for with trophies, medals and player of the tournament up for grabs.
The event is held in Exeter at Duckes Meadow so there is another excuse to stay with friends in Exeter and maybe even tie in a trip to Cornwall or stay for the Exeter 7s on the Saturday.
This year promises to be the biggest and best yet so to avoid disappointment get in touch early.
