One of the earliest tournaments of the year is the Seven de Punta del Este played at one of Uruguay’s top holiday destinations. As South Amercia’s leading 7s tournament it not only attracts established clubs throughout the continent but up also some of the toughest Islanders around in the form of Tonga and eventual 2008 Cup Winners, Samoa.
With Italian and Argentine legend Diego Dominguez one of the organisers, the event has the backing of Mr. Sevens himself, Waisale Serevi, who selects and stars in his own special 7’s team for the gold match ‘Party Challenge’!!

The night time kick off really adds to the party atmosphere and with New Zealand and France on the radar for future events, prospects are high for this South American hidden gem.
