The ‘Roma Seven’ has been running for 9 years and is the third biggest 7’s tournament in Europe. The 2009 event saw an impressive field of teams, including the international sides of Italy, France, and the Rugby Dubai, as well as a host of players from the international teams of England, Fiji, Australia, South Africa and the mighty All Blacks, winners of the “Roma Seven CUP” with the invitational team “Roma Seven”.
2009 edition hosted also the second edition of “Roma Seven Ladies International Tournament”, with the national teams of Italy and Israel, the Murrayfield Wanderers Ladies, Wooden Spoon, the Bassets Ladies. The cup was won by the Samurai Ladies.

The seductive Stadio dei Marmi provides the perfect setting to unleash legends of the games such Waisale Serevi, Ben Gollings, DJ Forbes, Tim Walsh, Tomasi Cama, Salomon King, Apo Satala under the careful watch of the national broadcaster RAI Sport PIU’ cameras. Year on year the ‘Roma Seven’ seems to spark the enthusiasm in Italy for Rugby, with it’s flair, pace, and passion embracing the way Italians love to play their sport.

Roma Seven is a two day tournament with pool stages on the Friday before teams battle it out in the knock out stages on the Saturday for the prestigious “Banca Fideuram Roma Seven 2010”. Saturday also sees the old boys get a run out with a special tournament, “Porta Portese Memorial Renato Speziali”, organised for the veterans of the game, since next year with international teams.

The post tournament ‘Roma Seven Party’ is known as one of best around on the circuit with great DJ’s and beautiful women providing the perfect backdrop to the Italian sunset.
