THE PORTSMOUTH GRAMMAR SCHOOL 7S
The PGS South Coast 7s is held a Portsmouth Grammar School and has been running annually since 1982. In 2009 we adapted the tournament to include plate and bowl competition as well as the main cup competition.
In 2010 we are welcoming 16 teams to the tournament from as far afield as South Wales, Oxford and Cornwall. We are also welcoming a number of RFU Academy Colleges for the first time.
Each team will play each other once during the round-robin stage of the tournament. After the round-robin games, the teams will be ranked from first place to fourth place in their groups. They will be ranked firstly according to how many points they have achieved (2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw); secondly by the total amount scored on the pitch; thirdly on how many points they conceded; and finally on the toss of a coin.
The top team from each group will go through to the Cup Competition. The second placed team from each group will go through to the Shield Competition. The third placed team from each group will go through to the Plate Competition and the fourth placed team in each group will go through to the Bowl Competition.
