Nondescript RUFC crashed the party, making the main cup quarter finals after finishing seventh overall at the end of the preliminary phase of the George Mwangi Kabeberi Memorial Sevens. The Red Lions ran Strathmore close in their opening pool game, losing 15-19 before registering 10-5 and 47-0 wins over Homeboyz and Egerton respectively. Reigning National Sevens Circuit and Kabeberi champions Strathmore also scraped through from this pool, securing a quarter final berth despite losing 17-21 to Homeboyz in their final pool match, a result that saw a three way tie between Strathmore, Homeboyz and Nondies. The usual suspects also secured their quarter final berths after finishing unbeaten. There will be a break from the usual set of semi finalists after Nakuru were drawn to face Impala in the main cup quarter finals.
