Kabeberi Sevens: High scores characterise the opening matches

Back to blog listing »

Saturday 18 September 2010

Day one at the George Mwangi Kabeberi Memorial Sevens, the fourth leg of the Western Union National Sevens Circuit is well underway with the big guns seemingly having a stroll in the park as the preliminary matches progress. Kenya Commercial Bank RFC have registered the day's highest score so far, a 61-0 result over Bungoma Fields, a combination of Bungoma RFC and Greenfields RFC.

Mwamba, Quins and Impala have also registered high scores and should easily book berths in Sunday's Main Cup Quarter Final action. Defending National Sevens Circuit and Kabeberi Sevens champions Strathmore survived an early scare in their opening fixture against Nondies, trailing 0-5 and 12-15 before edging out a 19-15 win. Mwamba II registered an upset, stunning Kenyatta University Blak Blad 24-17. The action continues
