What a weekend it was in Dubai, breathtaking and what a way to start another action packed IRB Sevens Series. With South Africa upsetting the form book and taking the win, it looks like it is going to be wide open this season. Many people have commented on what a great atmosphere it was at the new venue in Dubai ; 'the sevens' with huge crowds on every day. This is gfantastic for the game we all love of sevens and even more so for the series itself, there is surely no better way to start the season. With Dubai having been such a success, it makes us even more motivated to guarantee that Hong Kong keeps its place at the top of the pecking order with regards to venues to the IRB Series, and we are certainly intent on doing that. With the stadium having recently hosted Australia v New Zealand we had what in affect was a dry run, and what a day it was!!! It succesfully made us even more excited to bring the worlds attention once more to Hong Kong.

With the sevens tradition in Hong Kong second to none and the obvious quality of the sevens being played, it is a weekend not to be missed purely on the rugby and that is before we have even touched on the the goings on away from the field. Now heading into our 34th year as the worlds premier sevens tournament in an important year for Rugby Sevens with the Olympic vote taking place in the summer and the World CUp taking place back in Dubai the party is going to be larger than ever. With the carnival atmosphere that can only be found in Hong Kong still growing, people from all over the world flock to Hong Kong for the superb weekend of rugby and socialising.
