The Hannover Sevens are currently hosting the European Sevens championship finals. The first edition of this tournament in July 2008 was highly successful with more than 30,000 spectators. In 2009, the organisers expect an even bigger turnout considering that both the men's and the women's competitions will be taking place in the wonderful and modern AWD arena in the centre of the city of Hanover, the rugby capital of Germany!
