IRB GEORGE SEVENS
By George! Surely one of the most spectacular venues on the IRB Sevens Series, George Sevens is right in the heart of the majestic Garden Route that runs along the shores of the Indian Ocean at the foot of the spectacular Outeniqua Mountain range.
The 2008 event marked the 10th anniversary of the Emirates SA Rugby 7s with Outeniqua Park Stadium once again playing host to one of the most popular tournaments on the international circuit through its warm, friendly, and intimate atmosphere. Following up on their hard fought win over the all conquering Kiwi’s to take out Dubai, it was Paul Treu’s Boks who again proved victorious in George. Another nail biting 12-7 victory against the Kiwi’s in the final paved away for their first back to back title in their IRB series history and their first on home soil
