You can now find Saracen7s on Facebook, just type in Saracen Sevens and look for the bearded warrior...the legendary Penryn Saracen awaits!


Retrospective...the red and black V on a white shirt is the legendary design as worn by the epic Penryn team of the 1970s. This team swept all before them in South West rugby, played at the Middlesex Sevens and even took on the 1971 British Lions in a 1973 match at Penryn.


This is a very special rugby club, reflected in its superb sevens tournament.

I have great memories of Penryn as we toured there as a school team from Wick Hill School in Bracknell during 1967/8/9. Dave Thomas used to be rugby Master at Wick Hill before returning to Penryn. I am now Manager of White Hart Marauders but unfortunatley your tournament clashes with our other commitments otherwise we have loved to have come down.

Thats a great shame, David (Benji) is still coaching the 1st XV at Penryn and for the first time in many years Penyn will be putting great energy into its own sevens team next summer, playing at Saracen7s and Newquay Surf7s.

Is there any way that you could put the word out and recommend Penryn to your sevens contacts? I am working tirelessly to put Penryn on the sevens map, and not many people know that this great rugby town played at the Middlesex Sevens many years ago as guests.

Saracen7s goes to 2 days from 2012, it would be fantastic to see you down and the welcome would be sensational, its a great rugby club in every sense.
