Mwamba too strong for Strathmore
Mwamba RFC have topped Pool A at the 2010 Christie Sevens with an imperious show of might in their 36-7 win over National Sevens Circuit champions Strathmore Leos in their final pool match.
Kenya Sevens captain Humphery Kayange opened the deluge of tries, powering his way to the tryline with Kevin Wambua converting for a 7-0 lead. Horace Otieno and Edgar Abere scored unconverted tries that saw Mwamba build a 17-0 lead before Felix Ayange touched down for Strathmore with Ken Andola converting for a 17-7 score at half time.
Further tries from Louis Kisia, Collins Injera and George Mbaye aided by two more conversions from Wambua saw the black shirts run off 36-7 winners, booking a main cup quarter final berth in the process.Strathmore sail through courtesy of their second place finish in the pool.
The earlier Pool A fixture saw Nondescript RUFC finish third overall, beating Kenya Methodist University 28-7. Both sides proceed to the Bowl quarter finals.
