Fitness First Central Coast Sevens

Monday 07 September 2009

The inaugural Fitness First Central Coast Sevens is fast approaching. Entry to the tournament is closing on 20 September 2009 with limited places still available in the draw for interested teams from around the rugby world.

Located a step away from Sydney Australia, The Central Coast is a major Australian tourist destination and is the ideal location to play & stay.

The tournament has attracted a number of high quality teams in its first year including several of Sydney's premier rugby clubs from the Shute Shield, The Uprising beach Resort from Fiji and a number of former players from both rugby codes participating in the Legends team on behalf of tournament charity partner Hearts in Union including former Wallaby and NRL player Scott Gourley and former NRL Legends Cliffy Lyons & John Hopoate (now also an Australian Boxing Champion).

The Central Coast Waves will feature a number of current & fringe national 7's players selected by national 7's coach Michael O'Connor.

The Burwood Blues will be a surprise packet having won the Bangkok 10's & Hurricane Hawaii 7's in recent years.

The partnership with Fitness First is a great boost to the tournament taking the Fitness First Central Coast Sevens to a global audience and we look forward to a long & positive association.

We encourage Australian & International teams to keep an eye on the Fitness First Central Coast Sevens and if not entered in 2009 to plan ahead for 2010 for a tour down under to Australia to enjoy the Beaches, the Fun, the Sun & Rugby at its Electrifying Best!
