The Event

The Blazing Saddles 7's charity rugby tournament and party is taking place on Saturday 7th July 2012 at Wimbledon Rugby Club - SW20 0ET. The Tournament is in its second year and is an authorised RFU event.

The Tournament will run from 10.00am till 5.30pm with BBQ, prize giving, raffle, live band and DJ in the evening. 

The Cause

We are organising the event to raise money for War Child, who our two friends are currently cycling across the world for. The idea of the event is to raise as much cash as possible to help them in their fundraising mission for this Charity and to see some silky skills grace the fine fields of Wimbledon Rugby Club!  

Tournament Itinerary
 
At this stage, subject to one or two possible minor time changes, the format on the day for the tournament is:   
 
10 am - Teams arrive at Wimbledon RFC and Register 
11 am - 1.30pm Group matches 
2.00 pm - Plate Quarter Finals (knock-out stages) 
2.30 pm - Cup Quarter finals (knock-out stages) 
3.00 pm - Plate Semi Final (knock-out stages)
3.30 pm - Cup Semi Final (knock-out stages)
4.00 pm - Plate Final 
4.30 pm - Cup Final 
5.30pm  - Presentation, Raffle – all proceeds going to Charities,
6.00pm - Party live band and DJ
 
Group / Plate / Cup 
 
There will be 4 groups with 4 teams in each group. Within the group stages each team will play each other once (3 games each per team) and the top two teams will go through to the main cup competition and the bottom two through to the plate - the knockout stages.
