The Warriors Rugby 7s team are becoming an established Rugby sevens outfit on the sevens circuit in Wales and England. The team has been running from 2008 and have become more successful each year they have competed. The Warriors have won many tournaments in Wales including the Aberystwyth (where they set a tournament record 320 points for, 0 against) Swansea and Pembroke sevens and reaching the final of the Mumbles Cracker 7s. They were even invited to play in the prestigious Cwmtawe sevens in 2009 where they were drawn against teams such as The Army and Team Samurai.

The Warriors squad boasts players from the International, Regional, Premiership and club scene. Some include Wales International Sevens players Chris Morgans and Ricky Thomas. From the Philippines’ National Fifteen and Sevens team; Harry Morris and Gareth Holgate, and from Welsh Premiership Giants, the Aberavon Wizards; John Phillips, Chris Morgans, Marc Jones and Rory Gallagher. They are also proud to have Wales U20S,Llanelli Scarlets, Llandovery RFC and Llanelli RFC players Sam Soul, Gbemi Fisher, Gareth Beer and Rhys Lawrence in their armory as well as Wales Universities, Samurai Sevens player Marc Bennett-Jones and Wales Universities and Warriors Captain Matthew Nolan.

The most recent tournament on their sevens circuit this year was the prestigious Mid Wales Aberystwyth sevens on May 1st- May 2nd 2010. It is here that the warriors set a tournament record for points scored and conceded as they romped to title glory. The Warriors boasted the tournament’s top try scorer in John Phillips and assist leaders, Wales 7s and Aberavon Wizards Ricky Thomas and Aberavon Wizards and Samurai Sevens fullback Marc Bennett-Jones. The Warriors Philippine international pairing of Harry Morris and Gareth Holgate were also influential in the warriors success, with man of the match performances from Harry Morris and sublime game control and execution from Gareth Holgate. Harry Morris was dominant in regaining possession, solid in defence and dangerous in attack and Gareth’s game awareness and control was second to none. Ricky Thomas' performances throughout the tournament were influencial and brilliant and when paired with the rest of the squads led to a truly breathtaking, tournament dominating performance.

The Warriors are very proud of their achievements and with the hard work that has come from a lot of people connected with the squad, which has led to their success and development. There is a busy sevens circuit ahead of the Warriors with tournaments in Wales and England as well as the possibility of playing overseas in Italy, America and the Philippines.
