Samurai secure Paul Delport for Middlesex
ULR Samurai International have secured the services of current South Africa 7s captain Paul Delport for Middlesex 7s on August 14th.
Delport has the unique honour of captaining South Africa to victory in both the IRB Under-19 and Under-21 World Championships. He has had to overcome illness, the loss of his brother and long-term injury in recent years but still remains one of the finest scrum-halves in South Africa – a testament to his strong, determined character that will fit perfectly into the Samurai ethos.
Paul will be no stranger to playing at Twickenham, having represented South Africa in the recent London leg of the IRB series, before moving on the Edinburgh the following week.
Paul is the 3rd player to be confirmed for ULR Samurai International ahead of Middlesex, joining fellow countryman and South Africa Sevens legend Marius Schoeman and the UK National Sevens Series captain Mark Bright.
