Back in feudal Japan, at the times of great samurai, a provintial leader was overthrown and murdered by a young tyrant. By way of honour the samurai of the murdered lord should have committed suicide. All did, except for 47. They became outlaws, and drifters (Ronin), for a whole year while they planned their masters revenge. One night they stormed the castle where the tyrant lay sleeping and killed him along with an army of unsuspecting samurai.

Hundreds of years later, a team of such men form up on the rugby pitch to show the same spirit they showed. Playing a unique brand of rugby, these new mercenaries now play rugby.

They are now truely ronin.
