Sunshine 7s Report
Not a great start to the tournament with an apparent flu outbreak taking down the Olafs Axes squad to just 9 players before we even got started.
First game up was Hove who gave us a good contest but we ran out winner 21-10, though sadly lost another player to injury putting us down to just 8 men.
Next game up was Haywards Heath who we dispatched 31-5. Unfortunatly we picked up another injury meaning we were down to just 7 players.
Having only 7 players is not what you want when you quarter final cup match is against the favourites Wooden Spoons, who still had a full compliment of 12 players. We actually played some pretty decent rugby and defended well, but lack of players told and we went out at the quater finals to a strong team.
Next up for the Axes is the Kent Spitfire 7s where hopefully we will have a full squad and can go one step further than last year and win the cup.
