THE FLAIR BEARS
The Flair Bears were born in 2009, when rugby entrepreneur Barty Hills, now CEO Danger Bear, had fully recovered from a benign brain tumour, and desperately wanted to play rugby again. Luckily close friends from school and University were also genius rugby players with an abundance of skill. The bears spirit was quickly formed as wherever they went there was a showcase of skill, flair, excitement and fun! This innovative form of entertaining rugby sucked in the crowds and became the buzz of their first ever tournament in St. Andrew’s, Scotland. Since the success of the Flair Bears’ first tournament, they have continued to grow and excite crowds all over the UK, winning the Oxford 7’s Tournament two years running and reaching the semi-finals and quarter finals in national 7’s tournaments Newquay, and Rugby Rocks respectively. All in just two years. The bears are supported by an ever growing fanatic fan base known as the Boogie Bears. The Flair Bears have been producing the most flair at all tournaments both on and off the field. Off the field the Flair Bears are interested in raising money and awareness for charity. The bears also have ambitions to help communities all over the world enjoy a better way of life through sport.
