The Digicel Samoan Barbarians are the invitational side of the Samoan RFU often featuring players from the IRB Series Samoan National Team.

The Barbarians are often merely an alias for the national side as they warm up for IRB Sevens events so it certainly wouldnt be a shock to see the likes of Lolo Lui, Alafoti Fa'osiliva, Mikaele Pesamino and Alafoti Fa'osiliva gassing, goosing and fooling you whilst under the guise of the Barbarians especially the latter two who respectively finished 2nd and 3rd in the try scoring list in 07/08 season.

The Barbarians are backed by long time backer of pacific islands rugby Digicel who can be found sponsoring all levels of rugby in the islands. This has given the Samoans the opportunity to prepare to the best of their ability for the IRB series and beyond
