Since it's founding in 1974 Belmont Shore has been one of the premier Rugby Football Clubs in America, the tradition carried on again this year with the winning of the 2009 Sevens National Championship and a trip to the Super League semi-finals. Belmont Shore RFC is the standard of excellence at all levels of American Rugby competition sending teams to the 2009 league finals in both U-16 and U-14 divisions.

As one of the original US Rugby Super League teams in 1997 the team has been consistently outperformed in every aspect including competing in the Super League Finals in nine of the thirteen championships, with an unprecedented run of seven championship competitions in a row.

Belmont Shore RFC have been Super League Champions four times, most recently in 2007.
