First 2 group games were a stroll, but we the lost narrowly (19-14) to a physically strong Fijian army side (Sappas). We then had to beat a young, confident team in our last group game to ensure qualification for the quarters - we duly did this with a comfortable try victory. We then met the Sappas again, but learning from our earlier loss, hammered them with ease! Redingensians in the semis weren't going to be a pushover, as they have played together all season and rate themselves as a 7's team - again, our class shone through and we won convincingly. The final saw us play a very strong Fijian army side once again (Marchwood Sharks), who had cruised their way through. In a very even game, they led 5-0 for most of the game, but with the clock out, we had one last fling, and our youngster, Will J, made a break and ran it in from the halfway, chased all the way by 3 of their players - obviously I converted it, and the win was ours! Great work, very exciting, the crowd went nuts. The squad of Pete Nicholas (Captain/Manager), Tom McMurdo (our only forwards!), Finchy, Drakey, Myself, Strongy, Will, Gaz, Rupert and Booker played well
