Kenya announce new management team

The Kenya Rugby Union has today confirmed that changes have been made to the Kenya Sevens Management. This was done after an extensive review was carried out by the National Squads and Elite Performance Committee where it was felt that there was need to inject fresh ideas in order to move the game forward. The new team appointed by the Board consists of the Head Coach, John Mitchell Otieno Ocholla who is assisted by Charles Cardovillis and John Onyango Mbai to double up as Assistant Coach and Team Manager. Newton Ongalo Kimani will be retained as Assistant Team Manager because of his extensive experience in tours.

Other appointments to the Kenya Sevens Management Team include Geoffrey Kimani as Conditioning Coach and George Odhiambo as Physiotherapist.

While these appointments are immediate, Coach Mitch Ocholla will go with the U/19 Team travelling to Zimbabwe next week to participate in the Confederation of African Rugby U/19 Tournament before moving on to
his new assignment.

To serve in all squads is Wanjiku Wairia Lumula as Nutritionist, Felix Ochieng as Match Analyst and Mark Cole as Elite Performance Manager serving under the National Squads and Elite Performance Committee.

The Union took this opportunity to thank the outgoing Kenya Sevens Management who are credited for taking the Kenya Sevens Team to the world stage.
