Fiji name squad for final 2 legs of World Series

Newly appointed coach Jo Savou has named his Digicel Fiji Sevens squad to travel to Europe for the final two rounds of the HSBC Sevens World Series, in London and Edinburgh. Only seven players remain from the squad that contested the Hong Kong and Adelaide events in March and April respectively - captain Dale Tonawai, Watisoni Votu, Setefano Cakau, Nikola Matawalu, Mitieli Nacagilevu, David Batiratu and Joeli Lutumailagi.

Newly appointed coach Jo Savou has named his Digicel Fiji Sevens squad to travel to Europe for the final two rounds of the HSBC Sevens World Series, in London and Edinburgh.

Only seven players remain from the squad that contested the Hong Kong and Adelaide events in March and April respectively - captain Dale Tonawai, Watisoni Votu, Setefano Cakau, Nikola Matawalu, Mitieli Nacagilevu, David Batiratu and Joeli Lutumailagi.

Savou has drafted in current Police Sevens captain Sakenasa Aca, popular Red Rock playmaker Peni Gaunimeke, towering lock forward Leone Nakarawa, former Lelean secondary school captain Metuisela Talebula and Livai Ikanikoda of the Wardens Club.

Aca, Nakarawa, Talebula and Ikanikoda will all be making their debuts for Fiji Sevens.

After the first six rounds of the World Series - in Dubai, South Africa, New Zealand, USA, Hong Kong and Australia - Fiji lie fifth in the Series standings.

In London they line up in Pool D alongside South Africa, Russia and Portugal.

A week later in Edinburgh they will play ties on the first day against hosts Scotland, USA and staunch island rivals, Samoa.
