RugbyRocks organisers have announced that Feeder will be its first-ever headliner at the inaugural event on 12 June.
The rugby and music festival also plays host to the opening leg of the National Sevens Series, owned and operated by Ultimate Rugby Sevens.
Feeder are regarded as one of the best live acts on the planet, with a string of renowned festival anthems such as ‘Buck Rogers’, ‘Just the way I’m feeling’, and ‘Just a day’. Joining Feeder on the zavvi.com Festival Stage will be the Parlotones, Just Jack (DJ set), Alex Gardner & NIXA.
As well as the National Sevens Series, the rugby on show in Richmond will also feature the Rugby Rocks Open and Scrumqueens.com Women’s Sevens.
RugbyRocks also includes a live screening of England’s opening game at the 2010 FIFA World Cup, VIP hospitality, stunt displays, cheerleaders, fancy dress, a fan village and video-gaming zones, also courtesy of RugbyRocks Official Music & VIP Partner zavvi.com.
VIPs will also be treated to the zavvi.com After-Party, a boat cruise on the Thames from 11.30pm.
New era for sevens
“Feeder are the perfect headliner for the opening day of the National Sevens Series, the start of an exciting new era for rugby sevens in the UK’, says Rob Westworth, tournament director, RugbyRocks.
"We are very excited about the National Series kicking off on June 12th at Rugby Rocks in Richmond,” added National Sevens Series Operations Director, Tom Burwell.
"The announcement that Feeder will be the lead act, shows that the music will live up to the quality of rugby sevens on the field. We are sure that it will be a great day of rugby and entertainment and is not to be missed!"
A host of current rugby stars are set to make an appearance at the event, with the promise of quality sevens, music, and entertainment a major draw.
“RugbyRocks is the ultimate summer’s day out. Rugby sevens, music and World Cup football! I’ll see you there,” said Stade Francais & IRB World Sevens Player of the Year 2009 Ollie Phillips.
"I always look forward to sevens at the end of the season. The addition of music at RugbyRocks is going to create an awesome atmosphere throughout the day," added Harlequins and England’s Danny Care.

About the National Sevens Series:
The National Sevens Series will comprise of nine core specialist Sevens teams, featuring national-level players, plus three invitational sides, competing at each host tournament. Teams gain points on where they finish at each event aggregating a Series league table.
