Sudi and Mwanja back for Kenya

Saturday 13 March 2010 (UR7s)

Kenya have recalled Victor Sudi and Dennis Mwanja for the sixth and seventh legs of the IRB Sevens World Series in Adelaide (19-21 March) and Hong Kong (26-28 March).

Victor Sudi who did not feature in the last leg in USA will make a return to the team who made the semi-finals in the last event in Las Vegas.

Dennis Mwanja, who missed the entire season last year due to a knee injury, was also named in the 13 man side that was named by head coach Benjamin Ayimba.

It’s a familiar looking squad for the Kenyans, with their side firmly one of the most experienced on the Series.
Last year in Adelaide the Kenyans beat African rivals South Africa by one point in their pool and then went on to reach their first ever IRB Sevens Cup final, also against South Africa.

In the first ever all-African IRB Sevens Cup Final the Springbok Seven proved too strong in the tournament’s finale to leave Kenya still awaiting their first win on the Series.

The Shuuja face a tough task in the group stages of the Adelaide Oval meeting Fiji, Wales, and Papua New Guinea in the group stages.

Kenya squad for Adelaide and Hong Kong:
Humphrey Kayange [Captain], Lavin Asego, Collins Injera, Horace Otieno, Allan Onyango, Victor Sudi, Sidney Ashioya, Dennis Muhanji, Brian Nyikuli, Innocent Simiyu, Dennis Mwanja, Gibson Weru, Biko Adema
