Recent speculation from the Fijian Rugby Union had led spectators to believe that they would not be getting the chance to see their heros from the Fiji National Team play in the Marist Sevens this weekend.
Bucking the trend Global Waimanu welcome National team team backline utility Nasoni Roko into their squad with open arms. The addition of the talent Roko places Waimanu in a strong position heading into the tournament and taking the mantle of pre-tournament favourites.
Coach Sailosi Naiteqe welcomed national coach Iliesa Tanivula's decision to allow national reps to play for their clubs.
"I'm very pleased that Nasoni has joined the team," he said.
"His inclusion will improve our combination especially between him, Peni Rokodiva and Jo Nakaira.
Naiteqe said the Carisbrook and Air Pacific-sponsored side will come out firing today and will aim to go one step further than the side were able to in the Suva Championship earlier this year.
"I have faith in the boys. For us every game will be like the final and we will take each game as it comes," he said.
"We're done with most aspects of the preparations. For the last two days, the focus has been on mental toughness.
"The response from the boys has been good. They are 100 per cent ready for the first game.
"For me every Fijian player is the same in terms of mentality. They need to play from the first to the last whistle. Once inside the field they can't afford to lose concentration at any stage.
"I have confidence they will do their best. They know the next two days will not be easy. The aim is to improve from the Suva International Sevens where we lost in the final."
Waimanu will also have the services of towering forwards Rafaele Tokona and Sakiasi Rokosuka alongside new-find of the season Lemeki Tunidau who will be the side's halfback.
Waimanu will be looking to make an impact across all levels of the tournament by fielding four teams. Former Naitasiri fly-half Rokini Kiliraki will coach Waimanu II, while the Under-19 team will be managed by former Highlanders flanker Uraia Koroi. Waimanu will also feature in the oldies competition.
