The Interim Executive Council of the South African Rugby Union has agreed to extend the contract of Springbok Sevens coach, Paul Treu, and his management for three more years.
The decision was taken at the Executive Council's two day meeting, which ended on Tuesday in Newlands.
Treu coached the Springbok Sevens team to their inaugural IRB Sevens World Series title last season.
The Springbok Sevens team is currently in seventh position in the standings after four of the eight tournaments scheduled for the 2009/10 season.
Treu has already started building for the future by implementing structures to prepare for a gold rush in Rio de Janeiro.
"We have identified talented players in the Under-16 and Under-18 high performance squads," said Treu.
"We are looking at identifying a few more players and slowly introducing them in the circuit. Introducing our youngsters to the circuit is important in our build-up."
