England Sevens have called on the highly rated Ollie Lindsay-Hague to replace injured captain Kevin Barrett for this weekend’s Las Vegas Sevens.
Barrett was injured in Wellington and has been pivotal in helping England to fourth in the log of the IRB Sevens World Series.
Lindsay-Hague, however, is an able replacement and his thought of in high regard by Ben Ryan and the backroom staff who have seen his ability in their training squad.
The Harlequins man appeared for Sporting Chance (Samurai) in Dubai, helping them reach the final of the International Invitational.
He also scored a hatful of tries at Twickenham, with his Harlequins side reaching the Plate final at last year's Middlesex Sevens.
England face off against current USA Sevens holders Argentina, RWC Sevens champions Wales, and Japan who are making their first appearance this season.
Adamson and Anderson out
Aberdeen Grammar fullback, Steve Aitken, and Melrose centre Craig Jackson have both been called up to the Scotland 7s squad for this weekend's IRB Sevens World Series event in Las Vegas.
The duo replace Mike Adamson and Grant Anderson who retire with chest and ankle injuries respectively.
Aitken was a member of the Scotland U20 World Championship squad last season whilst Jackson, the cousin of Glasgow Warriors stand-off Ruaridh Jackson, is a Scotland U18 internationalist.
Scotland will meet Kenya, Chile and Samoa, who reached the final in Wellington, in Pool C.
