South Africa Coach, Paul Treu, on Ryno Benjamin's exit from the squad
“He used foul language against me and at some members of the management team and the senior players heard it. This is something we as a team have addressed and the important thing now is for us a team to move forward. This why we have some here like Gavin Swanepoel (Life coach), who is with the squad to assist with any situation like this. If there are any players who need assistance and help, we have the people here to assist our players.”
Fiji Coach, Iliesa Tanivula
'It took us about four minutes to get into it. Credit to the guys, they played well. William Ryder has really shown his fitness and his class and we got to watch more of him tomorrow. Every team here as really stepped up. Russia gave us a good go in that opening game and credit to them. It's good for Rugby.
New Zealand coach, Gordon Tietjens
"We started with a toughie against Samoa and I saw lots of really nice glimpses in that game, although we started slowly.. We bounced back, played pretty well against the USA but they didn't really test us, but I knew Wales would because they always seem to lift themselves against us and with the amount of dominance we had in the first half, to turn around at 5-5 was pretty average.
"Our decision-making wasn't great, even right at the end of the game, but we're into the Cup quarter finals tomorrow, England, and it's certainly a different kettle of fish.
Samoa Coach, Stephen Betham
"I was very proud of the way the boys played in the game against New Zealand, I think they had something to prove after last week, but then again it's only the first day - tomorrow's the day that counts.
"Am I enjoying the job? Not really! I think I'm going to get grey hair pretty fast.."
