Gloucester, London Wasps and Saracens are the latest sides to announce their squads ahead of the Middlesex Sevens this weekend.
England U20s rising star Dan Williams will captain a young Gloucester Rugby Sevens side at the charity tournament on Saturday 15 at Twickenham, playing alongside Charlie Simpson-Daniel who is the younger brother of senior Gloucester squad member James Simpson-Daniel.
Charlie who is already a full 7s international made his England Sevens debut in South Africa in December 2008 and he also celebrated England’s first win at the Wellington tournament against New Zealand in February as well as being part of the Rugby World Cup Sevens squad in Dubai.
The remainder of the Gloucester Rugby Sevens squad, including Olorun Identity Sevens player Danny Pointon, have recently been promoted to the 1st XV squad over the summer, with Jonny May the sole Gloucester Academy player.
London Wasps include wing Christian Wade and Jack Wallace who have just been on the successful England U18 tour to South Africa and are tipped for big things in the future, as well as 1st XV regular Daniel Leo.
Another member of the England U18 development tour to South Africa Owen Farrell, the son of Andy, will play for Saracens as well as Sevens specialist James Tirrell, who was part of the triumphant Olorun Sharks side in the recent Stockholm 10s.
Having won the tournament back in 2005 Gloucester begin their campaign against fellow Guinness Premiership side London Irish. Wasps, who last won the tournament in 2006 meet Premiership new boys Leeds Carnegie, and Saracens meet Worcester in their opening round fixture, meaning all three sides avoided the four invitational teams.
