The Fiji Rugby Union has received assistance from the International Rugby Board to prepare their national sevens team for the World Games in Kaohsiung.
With the cash strapped union looking around to better its financial status, FRU has used the assistance from IRB to prepare the team to play in Chinese Taipei next weekend.
The union did not approach its sponsors Digicel for help but will still use their logos on their shirts donned during the tournament.
FRU acting chief executive Keni Dakuidreketi said they financial support to take part at the tournament and appealed to the IRB for help.
"The contribution from IRB has gone to our budget to prepare and take part at the World Games," said Dakuidreketi.
"These games are not really the meet because we don't have all the best teams in the world taking part.
"However, it is supported by the IRB and they wanted us to play to help in the development of the sport and we obliged after they agreed to help."
Digicel, whose sponsorship ends in October, was not approached to help in the costs.
"It is not a clean tournament where we can't wear the sponsored uniform," Dakuidreketi said.
"This is why we will still go ahead and wear the Digicel logo uniforms in appreciation for the support they have given us through out the past three years."
