more »Ram Stallions enjoy further success at Slough Sevens

RAM Stallions successfully took home their Slough Sevens crown this weekend with an entertaining 34-24 win over defending champions Olaf Axes in the final. Both sides has originally cruised through the earlier rounds with ease and continued their form into the semi finals.
Here it was the Olaf Axes who put OJ’s to the sword 42-7, whilst the Stallions saw off the hopes of the Patriots 31-7 with another particular thorough defensive performance, which proved one of the overriding factors for them taking home the Peter Cockford Memorial Challenge trophy.
This was the fifth edition of the annual tournament, that is run by former England prop Paul Rendall and Ray Gagnon.
The highly social tournament also saw a number of other competitions fought for. D7W knocked out the home club - Slough Dragons - in the last four of the Plate with an impressive 36-7 victory.
This provided them with the confidence for the final where they outlasted Stoneyhurst 19-12 to take the title. Coneheads beat an amalgamated Slough Dragons/Mountain Goat side (Mounted Dragons) 35-12 in another entertaining match up.
Nearby club Windsor edged out Merkshire 22-5 in the Shield whilst Broadmore overwhelmed Farnham Royal 5-12 in the Vase.
