more »Dubai champs England face tough pool in South Africa

Freshly after England lifted the Dubai Sevens trophy in the desert the draw was done for the Nelson Mandela Bay 7s in South Africa, the 3rd leg on the HSBC World Sevens Series.
With many sides going against the form book this past weekend in Dubai, the new draw system has been put to the test early and all 4 pools at the new venue in South Africa look to be highly competitve.
Dubai Champions England will face former series winners Samoa who will be looking to refind their form from the Oceania 7s after having a tough weekend resulting in them winning the shield; the bottom ranked tournament. Samoa and England will be joined by Dubai semi-finalists and 4th place winners Argentina, whilst the USA who made the bowl final will round out Pool A.
Pool B will see surprise package from this weekend France take on current series champions New Zealand who fared roughly in the desert losing to South Africa, England and Australia. The 2 RWC finalists will be joined by Scotland who will be raring to go after their bowl victory and the form of Andrew Turnbull could be telling. Morrocco are the final team in Pool B, they will be making the debut on this year's series and will be looking to impress.
Australia and South Africa played out a superb plate final in the desert and they will renew hostilities on the blitzbokke home turf of Port Elizabeth in Pool C. Paul Treu's men will be looking to reverse the scoreline so the thousands of home supporters having something to cheer for. The two remaining sides in Pool C are Canada and Kenya who both struggled for consistent form in Dubai and will be looking to kick start their seasons.
In the final group, Pool D, current series leaders Fiji will take on Wales in what is sure to be a mouth watering encounter whilst Portugal will once again look to cause an upset. Finally current top dog on mainland Africa following their group victory over Kenya, Zimbabwe will be looking to continue their competitive run on the HSBC World Sevens Series.
