London Irish has named its side for the first J.P. Morgan Asset Management Premiership Rugby 7s Series event which starts this Friday (15th July).
The Exiles will go head-to-head with local rivals Harlequins, Exeter Chiefs and hosts Bath Rugby at The Recreation Ground.
Guy Armitage will return to action following his successful involvement with the England U20′s team at the Junior World Championships.
New additions to the Exiles Academy including Dave Sisi, who made his first appearance for London Irish last season in the LV=Cup against Sale, will be in action tomorrow evening along with Jack Moates, Ben Pritchard and James Lightfoot-Brown.
London Irish coach Neal Hatley said: “We are relishing the chance to test ourselves against three very good teams. It is an important opportunity to involve some of our young players and give them the experience of playing competitively against some top quality opponents.”
There will be six games, in accordance with IRB regulations, each match will consist of two 7 minute halves with atwo minute break at half time.
Interestingly London Irish have named a couple of players that have been playing on the recently finished Super Sevens Series in Neville Edwards of Rosslyn Park and Charlie Boufour of Blackheath. A contentious issue regarding the series last year was the use of players who were not contracted or academy players at the club they were representing.
Games will start at 7.30pm and finish by 10.30pm. There will also be music and entertainment, making each event an exciting summer event for families.
Tickets can still be purchased from www.ticketmaster.co.uk
