more »Apache look to upset form book at Middlesex 7s

The Apache 7s has named it's squad for the Middlesex 7s this coming weekend, with a couple of surprises but primarily sticking with the squad that has done them so well this season on the Super Sevens Series.
Apache player/coach has been able to name James Tirrell at half-back who was last seen playing for the Pups in their victorious outing at West Country 7s, Tirrell adds some vitality to an experienced Apache squad that boasts former Wales 7s international Dan Connolly and Cambridge Blue; James Greenwood.
Lynchpin of the side will be James Hawken who will once again have to be watched carefully by opposing midfields as the former Cornish Pirate and Rugby Lion looks to unlock the British Army in the first game of the tournament.
Unlike many of the specialist 7s teams, Apache has real grounding in a specific area, that of Henley and the Thames Valley. Having played on the circuit since 1998, winning tournaments all over the world, this is the Apache first appearance in the Middlesex 7s though they did play in a exhibition game against Kamikaze at Twickenham last year.
Apache have been consistent this year, losing out to Samurai in the quarter-finals at Rugby Rocks, Olorun Sharks in the semi-final at West Country 7s and then Brazil at Newquay Surf 7s last weekend, Hurst puts this down to the squad consistency that Apache have been famed for.
