Middlesex Charity 7s are delighted to welcome Vauxhall Motors as the event’s title sponsor and Wooden Spoon as one of the charity partners. The Sevens will be known as the Vauxhall Middlesex Charity Sevens and will be filling Twickenham Stadium with fast, fun rugby on Saturday 9th July 2011.
Vauxhall Managing Director, Duncan Aldred said, “Vauxhall has a longstanding relationship with the Wooden Spoon charity and its excellent work with disadvantaged children and young people. We are delighted to support the Middlesex Charity 7s in 2011, it's a brilliant family day out for all".
Wooden Spoon will be the charity partner alongside the RFU Injured Players Foundation. Bill Hill, Wooden Spoon CEO said "Wooden Spoon is delighted to be associated with Vauxhall and Middlesex Rugby in staging this outstanding annual event. A festival of rugby coupled with great family fun whilst fundraising for great causes. What more could you ask for on a British summer's day... perhaps some sun would be helpful?”
"We are delighted to be associated with Vauxhall Motors and look forward to putting the fun back into rugby, with some heart stopping action on the pitch." said Brenda Hobday, Chairman of the Middlesex Charity Sevens. We are also very excited about our new partner, Wooden Spoon and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship.”
Ian Beer CBE, Chairman of IPF, commented “On behalf of the RFU Injured Players Foundation, I am delighted that Vauxhall have become the title sponsors of the Middlesex 7s and has offered its backing to our charity, which supports players catastrophically injured through playing rugby at all levels of the game in England”
In a full day of exciting rugby, sixteen of England’s top sevens teams will compete on the day for the prize money and the Russell Cargill Cup. Tickets will go on sale from 14th March, priced £20 and £30 and children (Under 15) go free.
