more »Prem Sevens heads to Franklin Gdns

The four remaining clubs from England’s top tier will be battling it out tonight in a bid to qualify for the Premiership Sevens Finals.
Franklin’s Gardens plays host to the last qualifier with Northampton Saints, Gloucester, Bath and new-boys Exeter Chiefs.
Last week saw Newcastle and Sale became the latest two teams to book their places at the tournament's climax, joining Harlequins and Saracens who have also qualified for The Rec on August 6.
Several England Sevens squad members have been invited to represent Northampton Saints this evening. John Brake, who was recently released by the Saints, returns along with Tom Powell and James Rodwell.
Samurai International star Simon Hunt has recovered from an injury, which ruled him out of the Manchester and Newquay legs of the National Series, and also plays for the home team.
Andrew Higgins will face Bath for the first time since leaving the club under a cloud after being selected in Exeter Chiefs squad.
Higgins retired from rugby last year after he was banned for nine months, along with ex-Bath colleagues Alex Crockett and Michael Lipman, for failing to take a drugs test.
But the 29-year-old has returned to the game after agreeing a deal with newly-promoted Chiefs.
Drew Locke, who represented the White Marauders in this season’s National Series, will also add experience to Devon-based side.
Paul Jarvis is another Marauder who will be on show tonight representing a young and exciting Gloucester. Brother Tom Jarvis and Jaike Carter have also been selected, with both players shining for Olorun ID on the National Series. Seven of the 12-man Gloucester squad are just 18- years-old with the highly rated Koree Briton included.
West Country rivals Bath have also decided to blood some raw youngsters on the sevens arena but will have the experienced Ben Skirving who will captain. Rhys Davis, Matt Keyte and Chris Cook are also included.
