Portugal emphatically won the sixth and final qualifying stage of the FIRA Sevens in Paphos (Cyprus) this weekend.
It followed up on their win from the previous week at Split, with the back-to-back stage victories confirming their qualification for the season-ending finale in Russia's capital Moscow on 10-11 July.
France and Georgia did enough in Cyprus to confirm their place for Moscow, with twelve teams in total challenging for for European honours.
Portugal, overall winners in 2008, swept past France 31-7 to claim the sixth stage following a semi-final win over Georgia (24-5).
The eventual winners found the going tougher against the Georgians in the Pool stages, scraping by 35-26. But dominant displays against Malta (59-0), Serbia (50-7), and Croatia (38-0) highlighted their superiority.
Spain, Romania and Russia have all been winners on the circuit this year.
