Latest News
Firstly I have now been given the all clear to announce that as of Monday the Saxons will now be running a women’s team for the 2013 season. This has come about because Richmond FC’s women had struggled and needed to find a 7s identity away from Richmond to enable them to grow and compete consistently.
Julie Craig Chairwoman for Richmond RF will assume the role of Women’s Chair for the Saxons and be primarily responsible for coordinating the players.
This is a really exciting development for the Saxons and enables us to present a better shop window for sponsors and commercial propositions.
Fundraising
Although we have had significantly greater success with sponsors than we initially expected, we still need to raise more money. As a result of some extensive research we have decide to hold a number of events before next season. We hope that you will find these all interesting and obviously there are certain ones where we would encourage you to bring as many as your friends as possible.
These events are:
Christmas Party: Date tbc but will look to hold in first or second week of December either on the Wednesday or the Saturday depending on the fixture schedules. We’d like to get 100 people to attend
Night out at Wimbledon Dogs: Date is likely to be the first week in February once everybody is back drinking. This time we propose either a Wednesday or a Friday. We’d like to get 50 people to attend and the cost would be £6 for your ticket.
Paintballing: Date tbc but either November or January on a Sunday. Probely after you have all had tough fixtures on the Saturday to give us old people a chance. We’d need to get 30 people to attend £15 for a ticket
Jongleurs in Picadilly: Date tbc but October or November would be preferable and tickets are either for Friday or Saturday as a group booking for 20 people. Tickets cost £15
I need to speak to a couple of you to confirm the best dates to get maximum numbers but if you can start checking your diaries and let me know preferences on events you are keen on AND preferred day/ dates
Search Engine: We would like you all to sign up with http://saxonsrfc.easysearch.org.uk/ and once there on the home page it will ask you for which cause you are supporting. Type in Saxons RFC and this should then mean that every time you use this search engine it will raise funds for us a we will receive donations from the paid advertising that that site receives. IT DOES NOT COST YOU A PENNY TO DO THIS. Furthermore if you access various sites by going through this search engine then the listed stores will donate 1% or more to the Saxons RFC. Again you are NOT charged anything extra for doing this and it will all go to helping us raise more money for to enable us to have some extra perks whilst we are away at competitions. You can do that thru this page http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/saxonsrfc
Almost anything you can buy from almost every major shop donates money back. Check out the categories to fully appreciate the rewards the Saxons could achieve, if you all used this just to buy your Christmas shopping.

To make it very clear nobody including myself receives any money as reward for their participation and all the money goes on tournament fees, physios, and tour costs.

There are 2 weeks where an away trip clashes with trips to the continent. Those that want to play on those 2 trips need to let me know sooner rather than later. Those that aren’t fused also it would be great to know.
